There are lots of reports of files with a .dat extension being identified as "MacWavelets SBIN" documents, with perplexed users not knowing what they are or how to open them; some have turned out to actually be [[MPEG]] video (from a [[VCD]]), or image files associated with [[Adobe Camera Raw]] files.
