'''hNews''' is a draft standard intended to be one of several "microformats" released via the microformats.org site and community, intended for the representation of information in a manner that is human-readable but can still be processed by machines.

The format is an extension of [[hAtom]], a format designed to give information on Web documents in a manner which can be inserted into an [[HTML]] or [[XML]] document and viewed this way, but also standardized in a way which can be used in generating automated feeds such as is done with [[Atom]] or [[RSS]]. This extension is geared specifically for news articles, providing fields specific to the needs of journalism. People from news agencies including Associated Press have participated in the development of this draft standard.
