A Sprite file stores a raster image, or a sequence of images to be animated.

The format is supported by DataShow v5.0A+, as well as all DataShow Pro versions.

== Discussion ==
Here's a way to view a Sprite file in DataShow Pro v1.4A (assumes you have a way to run DOS software):
* Put the SPR file in the same directory as SHOW.EXE.
* Run SHOW.EXE.
* At the main menu, press F7 (Graph).
* Select "Animation" from the pop-up menu.
* Select a number of colors. Try 16 first.
* In the Animation Center, press the "Load" button. Type the filename, and press enter.
* If the file has multiple images, use the "Frame" button to choose an image.

A Sprite file starts with byte {{magic|0x0d}}, followed by ASCII "{{magic|DataShow Icon}}".
