==File Identification==
Beagle Works and WordPerfect Works used the same file format on the Macintosh, this format is unrelated to the common [[WordPerfect]] file format.

Each file begins with the ascii <code>BWks</code> which is the Macintosh Creator code for the format. Then the next 4 bytes determine if the file is a Word Processing <code>BWwp</code>, Spreadsheet <code>BWss</code>, Database <code>BWdb</code>, Drawing <code>BWdr</code> or Painting <code>BWpt</code>.
