&lt;div&gt;FYI... There was a version of SPSS prior to 1985 or so, existing primarily on IBM mainframes and, I believe, on DEC VAX. It's incompatible with newer versions. Neither IBM nor the creator, Dr. Nie, have any record of that format. Finally got annoyed and hacked the mainframe version. Conversion service from &amp;quot;SPSS1&amp;quot; on magtape to current SAV format is available at modest cost.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
